Giffin: 40th wedding anniversary

MARTINS FERRY – Emmie and Glenn Giffin are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary today, Feb. 13. They were united in marriage on Feb. 13, 1971 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Church in Triadelphia, West Virginia, by Father Kerwick.

Giffin is the son of the late Paul and Beatrice (Althar) Giffin. He owned and operated Giffin Amoco in Martins Ferry, was a mechanic at Cuddihy Auto Sales and is currently employed as a mechanic by BET Rental in Bridgeport, Ohio. His wife, Emmie, is the daughter of the late Fred and Betty (Albert) Wildern. She was employed by C & P Telephone Company in Wheeling for nine years, office manager of Romig Roofing Company for 18 years and is currently employed by Teletech in Moundsville, as a customer service representative for Charter Communications. Both Glenn and Emmie are Ordained Presbyterian Elders and are members of the Rock Hill Presbyterian Church in Bellaire.

They are the parents of three children: Douglas (Renee Smith) of Colerain; Laura (Jonathan) Belcher of Glasgow, Ky., and Aaron Paul (Julia Henry, fiancee), living in Martins Ferry; four grandchildren: Abby and Aidan Giffin, Lindsay and Harrison Belcher and Julia’s children, Aubrey and Adriana are special blessings.

The couple will celebrate with family and a trip to Washington, D.C.
