Kemp: 60th wedding anniversary

BELMONT-Hilles and Rosalene Kemp of Belmont celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 14. They were married at the home of the groom’s parents on Oct. 14, 1951. The ceremony was performed by the late Rev. Forrest Hall.

Hilles is the son of the late Clifford and Hazel Moore Kemp. He retired from Union Local where he taught for 37 years. He taught in the engineering department at Ohio University for several decades. He is also a World War II Navy veteran.

Rosalene is the daughter of the late Leland and Bertha Groves Bovenizer, formerly of Jacobsburg. She is a homemaker.

They are the parents of two children, Greg (Ann Huston) Kemp and Rosemarie (Bruce) Mehl.

Grandchildren include Julianna (Rocky), Elijah (Dana), Jeremiah, Hillery (Jeff), Isaiah, Olivia, Michaela and Hosanna Kemp and Micahlene and Veronica Mehl. Great-grandchildren include Ben, Ella and Gideon Hise and Noah and baby Lucas. They have sponsored many children through the years and nurtured one foster daughter, Jackie.

The couple celebrated with a party and family reunion, which included a wedding cake, slide show and music provided by family and friends.
