Precek: 70th wedding anniversary

SHADYSIDE – William and Olive Carle Precek will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on June 30. They were united in marriage by the Rev. Archie Mackey on June 30, 1942, at the First Christian Church in Shadyside.

Precek is the son of the late Joseph and Harriet Niecova Precek, formerly of Shadyside. He is retired from the First Energy R.E. Burger plant. He is a World War II veteran having served as an X-ray technician in the China-India-Burma Theater with the US Army 48th Evacuation Hospital.

His wife, Olive, is the daughter of the late W. Russell and Loretta Walter Carle, formerly of Switzerland Twp., Monroe County. She is retired from the L.S. Goods Co. in Wheeling.

They are the parents of two sons, Randall (Lorraine) of Springfield, Ohio and Richard (Kathy) Precek of Albuquerque, N.M. The couple has four grandsons, Nick, Chris, Joshua and Ian, and one granddaughter, Megan (Glen) Millican; four great-granddaughters, Erin and Morgan Dewing of San Rafael, Calif., and Ryley and Emily Millican of Albuquerque, N.M. The couple also has many loving nieces and nephews.

The couple will celebrate with a reception and light refreshments at the Shadyside Community Building across from the First Christian Church on Friday, June 29 from 7-8:30 p.m. All friends are welcome. The couple requests no gifts.
