Freeman: 50th wedding anniversary
MARTINS FERRY – James and Madelyn Freeman of Martins Ferry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 16. They were united in marriage Feb. 16, 1963 by the late Rev. Floyd E. Pitts, Shiloh Temple Apostolic Church.
James is the son of the late Emmett and Brucie Freeman of Martins Ferry. He is a retired coal miner of 26 years and 16 years at Ormet.
His wife, Madelyn, is the daughter of the late Joseph Vincent of St. Clairsville and Juanita Vincent, who is 94 and resides with Madelyn and James. Madelyn was a devoted and loving stay at home mother.
They are the parents of four children, Pamela L. Freeman Clark and her husband, John, of Pittsburgh; James H. Freeman Jr. of Martins Ferry and Rhonda Berisford; Theresa L. Freeman and Jeff McCourt of Martins Ferry; Marc V. Freeman and his wife, Alicia, of St. Clairsville; a granddaughter Morgan L. Baker and her husband, Aaron, of St. Clairsville; and a great-granddaughter Kailee A. Freeman and a second great-grandchild on the way.
Family and friends celebrated during Valentine’s Day weekend with cocktails and dinner in the Betty Zane Room at Oglebay Conference Center and Resort in Wheeling.
