Polinsky: 50th wedding anniversary

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Richard and Virginia Polinsky of St. Clairsville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 2. They were married on Nov. 2, 1963 at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Barton.

Polinsky is the son of the late Stephen and Mabel Polinsky of St. Clairsville. He is a retired math teacher from St. Clairsville High School. He was also vice principal and principal for a time, but returned to teaching.

His wife, Virginia, is the daughter of the late Andrew “Mac” Rose of Dillonvale and the late Martha Rose of Barton. She is a retired reading teacher from Adena Elementary School (Buckeye Local).

The couple has three children: Martha Polinsky of St. Clairsville; Stephen Polinsky and his wife, Rubi Polinskova, of Columbus, Ohio; and Rebecca Polinsky and her husband, Gabe Mozes, of Atlanta, Ga. They also have seven grandchildren: Martha’s daughter, Elena Polinsky; Stephen’s sons, Alex Polinsky, Zach Polinsky and Nate Polinsky; and Rebecca’s children, Jamie Propst and Zora Mozes.

The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at St. Nicholas Church with a blessing of their marriage. They are long time members of the church. The couple has a trip planned with all their children and grandchildren later this year to celebrate at Cumberland Falls, Ky.
