Mitchell: 25th wedding anniversary

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – N. H. “Pete” and Sylvia Mitchell celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Aug. 4. They were united in marriage Aug. 4, 1989 at Glen Dale Methodist Church in Glen Dale with the Rev. Billie S. Mick officiating.

Mitchell, son of the late Thomas and Mildred Mitchell, is a retired Major of the U.S. Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was also the Director of Environmental Services at Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale; King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Jerudong Park Medical Centre, Brunei.

His wife, Sylvia Sampson, is the daughter of the late Roy and Thelma Sampson. She was a dietary supervisor at Reynolds; executive secretary at King Khaled Eye Specialist Hospital and Jerudong Park Medical Centre, as well as document specialist at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe and Williams Lea.

They have six children: Tom and his wife, Julie, of Moundsville; Bill and his wife, Marizel, of Germany; Beth and her husband, Don Kidd, of Bellaire; Mary Goudy and her husband, Mark, Theresa Dayton and her husband, Terry, and John Dubowski III and his wife, Kristen, all of St. Clairsville.

They have numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
