60th wedding anniversary

MARTINS FERRY – Dominic and Charlotte DelGuzzo were united in marriage on Oct. 16, 1950 at the Methodist Church in Bellaire, by the Rev, Charles Edgar.

Del Guzzo is retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, Martins Ferry plant.

They are the parents of four sons, David (Debbie), St. Clairsville; Bill of Massachusetts; Joe (Rhonda), Mark (Cammy) of Martins Ferry; five grandchildren: Erick (Kelli) Delaware, Ohio; Lindsay (Joel) Ricker of Shanghi China, Cory (Alisa) of St. Clairsville, Carlie and Cirstie Del Guzzo, Martins Ferry; five great-grandchildren: Coleman and Dominic Del Guzzo; Logan, Alivia and Evelyn Ricker..

They celebrated their anniversary on Saturday, Oct. 16, at Undo’s in St. Clairsville with family and friends attending.

60th wedding anniversary

MARTINS FERRY – John C. and Elizabeth Ann Thomas Tierney Jr. celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Oct. 7. They were united in marriage on Oct. 7, 1950 at St. Mary’s School auditorium, which was serving as a church while the old one was being torn down. Father Salvatore Profeta performed the mass.

On Oct. 10, 2010, the couple renewed their vows at St. Mary’s Church in Martins Ferry with Father Tim Shannon who performed a mass, read the vows and presented the couple with a proclamation of blessings from Pope Benedict XVI.

Attending were their daughter, Mary Beth Brost and family from Martins Ferry and Morgantown; sons, Keith, Larry and Rick, and their families from the Columbus area. Their eldest son, Greg and his family of Apex, N.C., were unable to attend.

Remembrances were made of their second son, Timothy Scott Tierney, who was born June 19, 1954 and died on their anniversary in 1955.

In honor of their celebration, a dinner was held at the St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Bridgeport.
