Jennifer Lynn Smith and Dr. Douglas Ryan Closser were united in marriage on May 28 at 1:30 p.m. at the Yorkville United Methodist Church with pastor Tom Thomas officiating. The bride was escorted by her father.
Parents of the bride are Michael Smith of Rayland and Tracy Smith of Grove City. Parents of the groom are Blair and Patty Closser of Yorkville.
Maria Grace served as matron of honor and Julie Dompa served as maid of honor. Nathan Prati served as best man. Other attendants included Heather Vlack, Nicole Vlack, Kassy Piergallini, Meghan McNamara, Brooke Julian, Natalie Farinacci, Danielle Dimitris, Derek Closser, Darin Closser, Joey Orizczak, Mike Smith, Gary Grace, Trevor Sudvary, Nathan Kendjorsky and Andrew Bannan. Olivia Grace and Leah Smith served as flower girls and Blake Butkus as ring bearer.
A reception was held at the St. Florian Hall in Wintersville.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Buckeye Local High School and a 2009 graduate of Ohio University. She is employed as an accountant at Schneider Downs & Co., Inc. in Columbus.
The groom is a 2001 graduate of Buckeye Local High School and a 2005 graduate of Capital University. He earned his M.D. from Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine in 2009. He is employed as a resident physician at the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Following their honeymoon trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Columbus.
