CARA ELAYNE Mattern and Courtney Townsend Smith were united in marriage at 3:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, at the First Presbyterian Church, Wheeling with Rev. Bob Wilitts officiating the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Clay and Cinda Mattern of St. Clairsville.
The groom is the son of Pete and Sharon Smith of Wheeling.
Cayla Jones, was matron of honor and Chase Ripley was best man. Other attendants were: Brooke McVey, Mike Drosieko, Kayla Marling, John Drosieko, Alysha Dunfee, Chris Drosieko, Audra Bowman, and Derek Cisar. Flower girl was Sophia Gallo.
A reception was held at the Carnes Center in St. Clairsville.
The bride is a 2007 graduate of Bellaire High School and graduated from Belmont College with a degree in medical assisting. She is employed at Dr. Deguzman’s office in Wheeling.
The groom graduated from Wheeling Catholic Central in 1998 and from West Liberty College in 2002 with a degree in banking and finance. He is employed at Nationwide Insurance.
After a honeymoon to Cancun, Mexico, the couple will reside in St. Clairsville.
