New produce market open in Cadiz
CADIZ A new business is offering fresh produce and crafts. T&M Market owned by Terry and Mona Ray, held its opening day July 15.
The market is located at the site of a former BP gas station near the center of town. Mona noted that the availability of the 800 square foot building for lease allowed for a wide range of possibilities in terms of goods they can offer.
“I always wanted a set facility,” she said, adding that she has sold produce and crafts at Hartville Flea Market and crafts at Canton since 2008. She has also operated the cleaning business Made 4 U. She said she has always had a love of sales. “That’s my passion, to sell.”
The shelves are loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables. They also offer Old Mill Restaurant biscuit flour and honey. The Rays will also sell seasonal craft items and herbs. In the near future, they plan to sell hot dogs and ice cream as well. She noted that Terry, an experienced carpenter, will have woodcrafts for sale.
They will be looking for employees Mona said good people skills and an ability to talk to customers are a top qualification.
The Market is located at 339 Lincoln Avenue. Hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. seven days a week. It will be open year-round. For more information, call (740) 942-2345.
