Carriage Inn coming to St. C.
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – The Carriage Inn is setting up a presence out into town with a new branch office at West Main Street.
Joey Bell, administrator of the Wintersville center, who will also helm the St. Clairsville branch, said the home health care office should open in about four weeks and will include skilled and private duty services such as nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and home health aide.
The services will be offered in the St. Clairsville location as well as in the patients’ homes.
Bell added that the Carriage Inn saw a need for their services in this area.
“We were getting calls at our Wintersville office to service patients here,” she said. “We thought it would be more convenient to open a branch office.”
This led to the decision to open a St. Clairsville office and hire and train staff in the area. So far, they plan to hire nurses and therapeutic home health aides. Branch Manager Shari Staten, RN, has also been hired. A specific number has not been determined and the staff may increase as needed.
“We will add staff as our census grows,” said Bell adding that they accept Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance, veterans administration and Workers’ Compensation.
They will cover Belmont County, Wheeling, and the surrounding area. Bell noted that new site has seen interest from both established and fresh clientele. In addition, a referral source liaison, has also been hired to contact area hospitals and doctors’ offices to facilitate referrals.
The Carriage Inn has been active since 1982. It has been ranked among the top 25 home care providers nationwide by Decision Health in 2010, as well as receiving local awards.
The new office will be located at 150 W. Main St. Office hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., but a nurse will be on duty 24 hours.
