Building a new avenue of quality
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Patriot Medical Supplies is expanding its service area in the region, playing a role as the regional headquarters for its parent company – one that continues to grow on a national level.
Originally based in Bridgeport, Patriot Medical Supplies recently relocated to 52171 National Road East, Suite 5, in St. Clairsville – in the former C.A. House Music building. Today, Patriot Medical Supplies is a wholly owned subsidiary of Global Medical Equipment of America, which specializes in the distribution of durable and home medical equipment, supplies and medical devices.
The business has been operating out of its new St. Clairsville location for about two months now. Last week, the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce and local dignitaries officially welcomed Patriot Medical Supplies to the local business community with a ribbon cutting ceremony held during an open house at the new location.
“This is one of our primary spots,” said Harold Halman III, CEO of GMEA, based in Phoenix, Ariz., which operates retail locations in Ohio, Florida, Louisiana and Arizona. “It’s a prime location with great access and visibility, and we’re looking forward to expanding off of this territory.”
Patriot Medical Supplies already does business throughout the entire Tri-State area operating from the local site, serving clients that are spread throughout a radius of about 100 miles. Halman said they intend to utilize the St. Clairsville location as a “hub” for their ongoing expansion, reaching out even further into the Midwest and expanding the staff at the local office in the future.
Other GMEA hub sites at locations across the United States are also planned for the near future, Halman said.
“Health care is a service-driven industry,” he said. “Now more than ever, the focus is on how patients can get better quicker.
“It’s important to be able to do that at a reduced cost, too. We help facilitate that. We’re building an avenue to bring quality equipment to patients and care providers everywhere.”
Patriot Medical Supplies is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) qualified distributor. The company’s products include everything from power mobility units to braces, crutches, wheel chairs, scooters, oxygen and respiratory equipment, lift chairs, home diagnostic equipment, orthopedics, specialized furnishings, diabetic supplies, skin care products and supplies, exercise therapy equipment, ambulatory products, rehabilitation equipment, aids for daily living and much more.
If the local retail store does not have a certain medical supply, unit or accessory in stock, it can likely be ordered and delivered within a couple of days.
GMEA not only distributes durable medical equipment and supplies, but also has ventured into the manufacturing of new equipment and the re-distribution of used and refurbished diagnostic equipment to health care providers, such as X-ray equipment, ultra sounds, CT scanners, MRI units and exam room equipment.
From a retail customer who walks through the door to clients seeking sophisticated or large volumes of medical equipment, Patriot Medical Supplies can help make it happen.
“We have regular business hours, but we offer around-the-clock service,” said Michalle Jendrusik, senior marketing manager at Patriot Medical Supplies. “We’re on-call 24-7 for our clients – such as oxygen patients – and are available to make a special trip out.”
