GSP Batting Cages are a hit
Baseball and softball players, and teams, in the Ohio Valley now have a facility to enhance their skills.
GSP Batting Cages and Training Center, located on Tinmar Drive just west of St. Clairsville, offers a variety of batting cages and specialized training in the two sports.
“Things are going great. Every day, every week it gets better,” said owner Jerry Pintarich, who along with his wife, Sheila, and children, Sierra and Gerald, held their grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies Friday and Saturday.
“There’s still an unawareness because people just don’t know that we’re here,” the Bridgeport High School graduate noted. “Three or four people a week will come in and tell us that they heard about us from someone.”
Despite that fact, Pintarich said business has been a real big hit.
“We had seven or eight days last month that were way better than expected,” he admitted. “I kind of judge things on a break-even number, and we have had several days better than break-even.”
The 23,000-square foot indoor facility is equipped with Iron Mike arm-style batting cages, pitching and hitting tunnels combined with a 10,000 + square foot, 32-feet high fully netted turf practice/playing field.
Baseball instruction is given by Steve Wojcik, Jarod Rine and Mike Marksbury. Softball instruction is given by Rachel Duncan.
