Lorenzi Building Products closed

BRIDGEPORT – Al Lorenzi Building Products, based in Western Pa., is a family-owned and operated company that’s been around for nearly 40 years.

A quick glance at U.S. 40 in Bridgeport, however, and you’ll see it’s no longer part of the business community … at least physically.

Lorenzi closed up its doors Friday, Feb. 15 but a tarp sign hanging on the fence securing the property tells customers that the company will continue to service customers in the Ohio Valley.

It will do so from its Washington, Pa. location which is available by calling (724) 222-6100 and can be found at 1600 Jefferson Ave. in Washington.

Lorenzi also has another location at 1600 Washington Rd. in Mount Lebanon.

Better known as the ‘Window People,’ Lorenzi guarantees that its one-stop showrooms will continue to display the largest selection of windows in the tri-state area.

It also has a sizable collection of entry doors in wood, metal and fiberglass.

Lorenzi also was big into offering lumber for any residents, although it appears the company will be focusing more on doors and windows.

Fortunately, there are a number of comparable options for Ohio Valley customers to choose from to fill the vacancy in their lumber purchases.

One in particular is Denoon Lumber in the Jefferson County community of Begholz.

Located at 571 Co. Highway 52 on Ohio 165 N., Denoon can be reached by calling (740) 768-2200 or via its website at denoon.com

Denoon offers lumber for a number of different uses and projects, including flooring, paneling, moulding and rough-cut lumber for various construction projects big and small.

They also deal in interior and exterior doors along with custom mantel and bar pieces.

Other potential options in the immediate area are 84 Lumber in Bridgeport and Lowe’s in St. Clairsville and Center Wheeling.
