Papa’s got a brand new recipe
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – David Crosby officially opened his new pizza shop, Papa D’s Pizza, the first week of April.
Papa D’s, located at 52171 National Rd. East in St. Clairsville, chose a location that can cater to the traffic traveling on US 40 and the surrounding hotels and businesses.
Crosby has been in the pizza business for 10 years, though with this shop, he has involved both his son and daughter, who currently work there. It was Crosby’s goal to make this a family business.
“I think my son especially might want to take it and run with it,” said Crosby. “(The name) because I am a dad and a grandfather, I thought papa and “D” for dad or for David, that’s how I came up with the name Papa D’s.
“We wanted the logo be something simple but express itself at the same time.”
In his 10 years, Crosby has found the pizza business to be profitable accompanied with a lot of hours.
Papa D’s menu offers a wide variety of selections from pizza and toppings to subs, salads, calzones and wings.
Along with reasonable and affordable prices. They are open seven days a week with hours ranging from Monday – Thursday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday- Saturday 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and open on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. They have a $10 minimum required for deliveries.
“Personally myself, I am just a perfectionist, that everything I sent out has to be done right, I always think that my family would be eating it.
“That’s probably the hardest thing is pleasing myself,” said Crosby, who would like to expand his business in the future.
“That extra attention (that I give my pizza) I always tell people that it’s that heart that I give it, I have heart.”
