Chamber christens new locale
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Back in February, the St. Clairsville Chamber of Commerce packed up shop and set off for its new home down the street at 133 E. Main St.
It was a short move, across the street and eastward a few blocks.
But there’s one aspect of the new location that’s paying huge dividends for the chamber and its staff and members – parking.
“We were looking for a location that better suited our needs,” said Jennifer Woollard, Executive Director of the St. Clairsville Area Chamber of Commerce. “The parking is way better.
“We are able to have someone pull up and stop right in front of the office or across the street.”
“And they can do so, really without any issue, on any given day.”
Woollard noted that before, because of the increased traffic surrounding the former location, members or visitors may of had to circle the block multiple times to find a parking spot … if one was found at all.
As far as the indoor setup goes, the size of the office is similar.
There is a greeting area at the front of the chamber office, with a sizable room directly behind that can double as a conference room or meeting room.
The best part, however, is the dedicated storage areas located in the rear of the facility.
Where the previous building had an open room in the rear that was used for storage, but also for other reasons, the dedicated storage rooms allows Woollard to keep things separated.
The move has been well received, both by chamber members and its staff and board.
The attendance at the open house is proof of that.
“We had a great turnout for the open house,” Woollard said. “I was really happy with it and, to be honest, surprised by the amount of people we received.”
Woollard wanted all to know that, if they were unable to make the open house, they can simply stop by the office, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and check it out.
