Kaela Leanne Photography open for business
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Kaela Elliott first became interested in photography at the age of ten, after completing a school project. It’s been a hobby ever since, and at age 26 Elliott now has a business that allows her to do what she loves.
“I have always loved photography,” she said. “It’s wonderful to capture moments and I’m always learning new things.”
Kaela Leanne Photography started in the middle of 2013, though Elliott doesn’t remember the exact month because it grew gradually. She does all photos herself, with no employees. Elliott specializes in portaits of children, newborns and maternity.
“I’m patient working with kids, and I work with them to make sure they’re having a good time,” Elliott said. She says clients have enjoyed her photos because she makes sure to capture the personality of her subjects. Elliott also does family and engagement pictures, among others.
Elliott is an on-location photographer. She will travel within fifteen miles of St. Clairsville, and offers travel pricing packages for further areas.
“I’ll go to any nearby parks or different areas, I’ll also go to homes for newborn and maternity,” Elliott said. She added that she prefers to take pictures outdoors because the natural lighting and photos are better that way. Elliott’s availability is not limited by set hours, and she says she will work weekends or any time during the week.
Elliott also does customized photo necklaces. She crafts the keepsake by using a photo, which can be one she has taken or one given to her, and placing it in a unique pendant.
As of now, Elliott has no plans to move into a studio, because she prefers being on-location and outdoors. However, she does plan to expand with more clients and more experience.
Elliott is originally from California. She moved to the Ohio Valley approximately seven years ago to be with her husband Ryan, an Ohio native.
