Room For Change brings to new life into homes

WHEELING – Room For Change, given the chance, will take any room or even an entire house and will redesign it to the owners liking.
Laura Ondeck and Jill Regan are the designers and owners of Room For Change. They have been working together for the last 18 months designing and decorating rooms for clients in the Tri-state area.
They have been working separately helping friends and family pick out new colors and pieces of furniture for rooms. It was a chance meeting that Room For Change came to life.
“We’ve known each other for a few years. It was a chance meeting in a restaurant one night and we started talking,” said Regan. “I had mentioned to (Laura) that I was going to start taking classes and interior design.”
Ondeck was also interested in the pursuing classes in interior design as well.
“It was the funniest thing because as the evening progressed, I said ‘I haven’t got the business yet, but it is going to be called Room For Change.’ and Jill said ‘I got the business plan but not a name’,” said Ondeck.
After the restaurant, the two began planning out the business and that night, Room For Change was born. Regan and Ondeck work full-time jobs but decided that they wanted to do interior design professionally and since then have been certified.
“We decided that it was a good name because everyone has room for change and everyone should have some change in their life,” said Ondeck.
While both agree that it all exciting, the most exciting part is when it all comes together.
When it comes to Room For Change, both agree that it doesn’t have to be just a room or an entire house, they will help homeowners pick a color or a piece of furniture for a room or stage a house for an open house.
