ACS presents Riesbeck’s
ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Riesbeck’s Food Markets has been awarded The American Cancer Society’s President’s Award. Riesbeck’s Food Markets was selected by the Belmont County Volunteer Leadership Council for the company’s commitment to the Society’s mission of fighting cancer. The President’s Award is a unique award and will only be given at times to honor an individual or company whose continued commitment to the Society’s work has made a profound impact upon the advancement of the Society’s mission, said John Largent, American Cancer Society Senior Representative of Community Engagement.
In 2013, Riesbeck’s Food Markets, Inc. contributed a total donation of $12,000 to the American Cancer Society. The contribution was for the Society’s Relay For Life events of Belmont, Buckeye Local, Coshocton, Guernsey, Monroe and Steubenville. This contribution has assisted the ACS with saving over 1.3 million lives, marking a 20 percent decline in cancer death rates and by helping the Society to invest more than $4 billion dollars to cancer research, to name a few accomplishments.
