School boards meet at Annual Business Meeting
COLUMBUS — More than 500 public school boards from around the state were represented at the Annual Business Meeting of the Ohio School Boards Association Delegate Assembly on Nov. 13.
Delegates considered the OSBA legislative platform, a comprehensive document defining OSBA’s views and goals on a wide range of education issues. Each of OSBA’s member boards is entitled to one voting delegate.
Representing Bridgeport Exempted Village School District at the annual business meeting of the OSBA Delegate Assembly was Roger W. Stewart of Brookside.
The delegate meeting was a significant event of the 62nd annual OSBA Capital Conference and Trade Show, held Nov. 12-14 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
More than 9,000 people attended this year’s conference, which included more than 150 sessions of panel discussions, workshops, one-on-one assistance and nationally renowned speakers addressing a variety of educational issues.
Keynote speakers at the 2017 Capital Conference included actor and writer and Ohio native Josh Radnor (“How I Met Your Mother”) and actress and Emmy Award-winning writer Sonia Manzano (“Sesame Street”).
