Danos Foundation to award funding to local nonprofits
GRAY, La. — The Danos Foundation is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations that help solve community challenges where the company and employees live and work. The deadline for organizations to submit an application is Aug 31.
“We are proud to live out our company purpose of solving big challenges for our communities through the work of the Danos Foundation,” said owner Mark Danos. “The foundation has already made an impact in our communities, and we look forward to serving more organizations as the foundation grows.”
Founded in 1974, Danos is a family-owned oil and gas servicing company. It offers automation, coatings, construction, fabrication, materials management, production workforce, project management, scaffolding and specialized consultants.
Danos has an office in Martins Ferry and has been operating in the Ohio, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania area for more than six years.
Danos also has employees working in Uhrichsville, St. Clairsville, Youngstown, Steubenville and Marietta in Ohio and in Moundsville, W.Va.
Established in 2017, the Danos GIVES arm of the foundation has donated $39,750 this year to nine organizations who applied for grants in 2017. The foundation is encouraging 501(c)3 or 170(b) nonprofit organizations that benefit education, health care, environmental or welfare initiatives in the areas where the company conducts business to apply for a grant. Awards will be presented January 2019.
Danos GIVES is funded by employee contributions along with support provided by the company. Interested groups should visit the foundation’s website, danos.com/foundation, to learn more about the grant application process and submit an online application by 11:59 p.m. Aug. 31.
Operating within the Danos Foundation are two additional programs. Danos WORKS awards money to approved 501(c)3 or 170(b) organizations where Danos employees volunteer their time. Danos CARES is an employee-driven initiative in which funds are distributed to employees who have needs arising from unexpected events.
