Plaza West Festival donations presented to United Way

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Unified Bank and Riesbeck’s Food Market presented a check in the amount of $4,778 to the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley from proceeds from this year’s Plaza West Festival event in St. Clairsville.

The Plaza West Festival is co-sponsored annually by Unified Bank and Riesbeck’s Food Market, with assistance from subsidiary sponsors: United Dairy, Nickels Bakery, The Health Plan, Our Family Brands, iHeart Radio and Panhandle Cleaning and Restoration.

“We are grateful to our co-sponsor, Riesbeck’s Food Market, and to all our subsidiary sponsors,” Scott A. Everson, chairman, president and CEO of Unified Bank said. “For over 20 years, we have supported The United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley by donating all the proceeds from this family-oriented community event, and we’re extremely pleased to assist the agencies and families that they serve. We thank everyone who attended and gave so generously.”

The donors said the festival planners hosted a wonderful festival with a great crowd, record monetary donations and a fireworks show at its conclusion. This year’s Plaza West Festival brought the community together to raise money for a great cause.

“Riesbeck’s is proud to co-sponsor this event with Unified Bank and United Way,” Peter Riesbeck, Riesbeck’s director of human resources, said. “We’re always humbled at the generosity of the community.”

With donations to the United Way, festival-goers enjoyed hotdogs, chips, ice cream, and cotton candy while they listened to a live music performance by Twice As Nice. Children enjoyed the Kid’s Corner’s festivities of games, clowns, and met local fire fighters and police.

“The team work of Riesbeck’s and Unified Bank on this event is tremendously admirable,” Jessica Rine, executive director of the United Way, said. “It’s a huge success not only because of the funds raised, but also because this event brings the community together.”
