Balsei named Elks’ Student of the Month

THE LOCAL Elks Lodge would like to announce the winner of the October Teen of the Month Award. He is a senior at Bellaire High School and is ranked No. 1 in his class with a GPA of 3.88. James Balsei is the son of Jim and Tammy Balsei.

Balsei plans to attend The Ohio State University and work towards a degree in Electrical Engineering and Business.

He enjoys golfing, baseball and hunting. He hangs with his friends, fishes, likes to run and workout. He belongs to the Bellaire Presbyterian Church, assists with little league baseball and donates his time to blood drives and works for LaRoche Tree Trimming.

At school Balsei is also very busy. He is President of the National Honor Society, Secretary of Student Council, Business Manager of the 2008 Beljuan and a member of the Wheeling Youth Leadership Program.

He is listed in Who’s Who Among All-American Scholars and Leaders, member of Quill and Scroll, All Conference Academic and Athletic Awards, lettered all four years on the golf team and awarded the OVAC 2008 RBI award in baseball.

The Elks would like to congratulate James on his award and wish him the best of luck with his future plans. Jim is now eligible to win a $2,000 scholarship for his freshman year at college. This college award is given out by the Grand Lodge of the Elks.
