Bridgeport? Christmas parade set ?Dec. 7

THE VILLAGE of Bridgeport is proud to announce that its annual Christmas Parade will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m.

Line up for the parade will begin at 12:30 p.m on South Lincoln Avenue. There will be a table on a corner by Moore’s Music Emporium where all entrants will stop to get their line up number for the parade, be ready to get in line when you register, you can finish decorating in line.

Trophies will be awarded for the following categories:

float, best marching band, best youth participant, best use of music, best business participant, best dance participant, best religious entry and best overall.

Ribbons will be given out to all participants. The judges stand will be in front of the Municipal Building. Dance schools will be judged there.

The only rule is that there be NO SANTA on your entry, as they will have only one in the parade.

All marching bands and dance groups will be kept a comfortable distance from the fire trucks.

They ask that all businesses and organizations get involved with this year’s parade. “We need you to make our parade a success. Remember, size is not important, participation is,” said parade committee members Norma Teasdale, Misty Smith, Bob Teasdale, Dave Smith, and Dory Lucas.
