Buckeye Local to host fall registration
THE BUCKEYE Local Early Childhood Education (previously Preschool) and Kindergarten registration for children that would like to enroll in our district has been set for the following dates: South Elementary, Monday, March 9; Northwest Elementary, Tuesday, March 10; West Elementary, Wednesday, March 11; North Elementary, Thursday, March 12
Early Childhood Education service may be students that are 3 years 6 months old on or before Sept. 30th. To be eligible for Kindergarten a child must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30th.
You are encouraged to attend these registrations during the hours of 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Your child does not need to attend registration, however, we will need a copy of the Birth Certificate, Social Security Number and Immunization Records. Those students already attending Buckeye Local Early Childhood Education do not need to register for Kindergarten.
The Immunization Records should include four or more doses of vaccine for D.P.T., three or more doses of Trivalent Oral Polio, one of more doses of Rubella, Rubeola and Mumps (MMR) administered after the first birthday, also need the Haemophilus B (HIB) vaccine. Kindergarten students will require three (3) doses of Hepatitis B vaccine and 1 dose of Varicella (chickenpox) vaccine must be administered on or after the first birthday.
These records will be reviewed by Mary Kay Mayle, RN, BSN, school nurse. Any incomplete records may be taken care of through your family physician or by the Jefferson County Health Department on any Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
