BSA council officers elected
Officers and Board Members for the Ohio River Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America have been elected for the upcoming program year. Paul Tucker, attorney with Bachmann, Hess, Bachmann & Garden, P.L.L.C. has been elected President of the Board.
Mr. Tucker was raised in the Weirton and Steubenville area and earned his Eagle Scout award in Weirton in l968. During his final high school year, he served as Head Page in the U. S. Senate. A graduate of Harvard College and the University of Chicago, Mr. Tucker was admitted to the West Virginia Bar in l977. He has served as a part-time United States Magistrate the Northern District of West Virginia and is a member of the Ohio County Bar Association, The West Virginia State Bar, and the Defense Trail Counsel of West Virginia.
In service to the local community, he has served as the Chairman of the Wheeling Symphony Society, Past President of King’s Daughters Child Enrichment Centers, Inc, Chairman of the West Virginia Section of the Harvard/Radcliffe Schools Committee, and Elder at Vance Memorial United Presbyterian Church.
Since his Election to the Executive Board of the Ohio River Council, he has served as Vice-President for Membership and Co-Legal Counsel.
Jim Rose was re-elected as the Council Commissioner. Jim is Treasurer of Producers and is also an Eagle Scout.
New Board members elected include Connie E. Grisell, Director Grisell Funeral Homes & Crematory, and Bob Long, Jr. Branch Manager for Chase Bank.
The Ohio River Valley Council serves over 3,000 Scouts annually in ten counties in West Virginia and eastern Ohio. It is a member of the United Way.
