Elks Lodge honors Bobka

THE LOCAL Elks Lodge would like to announce that Kara Bobka of Bellaire High School has been named as the Elks Teen of the Month for November. Kara is a senior, hold a GPA of 4.441, and is ranked 3rd in her class at Bellaire High. She is the daughter of Andy and Kathy Bobka of Bellaire.

Bobka plans on attending the University of Pittsburgh, studying pre-med and becomig a doctor. She reallys enjoys running, her favorite foods are crab, icing and ice cream. She also loves to spend time with family and friends.

Bobka played volleyball, track and basketball for four years each. She has been a member of the National Honor Society, Science club, Student Council, Media Writing and choir. She has held many offices associated with these organizations. She was also a sixth grade camp counselor, senior sister and Wheeling Youth leader, Woman’s Day in Science and Wheeling Gold Club.

Bobka Community service is impressive, and has been involved in Close-Up, OVAC Basketball Games, Coach A’s Basketball Camp, Lady Red’s Basketball and Volleyball camp, Bellaire track meets, and Elementary Field days.

Bobka awards have added up. They include Principals and National Athlete Honor Rolls, All-Conference Academic Award, Eastern Ohio All-District Track and Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association and National Society of High School Scholars. She is listed in the Who’s Who in Leadership, Student Council, Honor Roll and All American Scholars.

The Elks Lodge would like to congratulate Kara on her outstanding High School career and will be eligible for the Student of the Year and a $2,000 scholarship award.
