St. Mary Central honors teachers

Teacher Appreciation Week was celebrated at St. Mary Central School, St. Clairsville, the week ending March 19. The school families hosted the weeklong event for the faculty and staff.

Teachers and staff were treated to a morning coffee cart complete with baked treats, fresh fruits, and assorted juices, coffee, and tea.

Daily drawings were held for gift cards. By the end of the week every faculty and staff member will have won a gift certificate provided by the school parents.

On Wednesday, ten-minute massages were offered by Serenity Spa and on Friday the faculty and staff will be treated to a special luncheon. Each person will receive a gift bag at the luncheon.

The school hallways were decorated with gratitude posters made by the students and a banner outside the school read-St. Mary Central-We Celebrate Our Teachers.

Nannette Kennedy, SMC principal, expressed her gratitude to the committee members, Sharon Harrision, Bev Robinson, Sheila Cash, and Colleen McConaghy for their attention to every detail of the week and to all of the school parents who contributed to the week’s activities.

“SMC is fortunate to have parents who recognize and appreciate the dedication of our faculty and staff. Our parents gave of their time, talent, and treasure to make certain that our faculty and staff enjoyed the entire week.”
