Vigil to be held for victims of fire

BRIDGEPORT – A year ago on Saint Patrick’s Day morning, an apartment building fire in Bridgeport took the lives of three young children, severely injured their parents, and left several families homeless.

To help with the healing process and to commemorate the lives of Josh, Ruthann, and Aubrey Looby, some churches in the Bridgeport community are organizing a candlelight vigil to mark the first anniversary of the fire. It will include a time of remembering, hearing words of hope from Scripture, offering of prayer, and joining together of voices in song.

The vigil will be held on Monday, March 17th, at 7:30 pm on the sidewalk along Main Street near the site of the fire. In case of bad weather, the vigil will move to the Kirkwood Presbyterian Church next to the Post Office on South Lincoln Avenue.
