East Richland to sponsor one-day bible school

MORRISTOWN – A one-day event sponsored by East Richland Evangelical Friends Church for children from 4 years old to fourth grade will be held on Wednesday, July 9 at the former Morristown Elementary School 201 W. Cross St. in Morristown. From 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. children will participate in a series of activities to help them become “Special Agents” for God.

The “Agent D3” program was popular at EREFC’s June Bible School held at the church facility on National Rd., according to Lou Anne Barbina of EREFC. The “D3” stands for “Discover, Decide and Defend” referring to a Bible verse, 1 Peter 3:15. At various stations participants will discover what God’s word says, decide how to apply it to their lives and learn how to defend their beliefs.

“We had 200 children, and they really enjoyed doing the ‘spy’ activities,” she says. “It was so much fun that we decided to do a community program as well to reach out to other children, especially in the Morristown-Belmont area.”

The program is free, open to the public and includes children’s lunches. Children are encouraged to bring a friend. For more information, call EREFC at (740)695-0971, extension 125.
