2019 scholarship applications now available
WHEELING — The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley announces 2019 scholarship applications are now available.
Applications are available online at www.cfov.org by clicking the Scholarships tab.
The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley administers more than 70 scholarship funds. Last year, CFOV scholarship funds provided $328,314 in scholarship awards to 153 students throughout the Ohio Valley. CFOV scholarship recipients attend schools in our region and beyond, including UCLA, Case Western Reserve and Indiana University.
Community Foundation scholarships are as unique as the establishing donor. Scholarships managed by CFOV represent memorials for loved ones, an affinity for a particular major, attendance at a particular school/university, intended career path, financial need and even being a first generation college student.
While each application has specific instructions, the application period closes March 1 for most opportunities. Application review will then take place and recipients will be informed of awards in May.
“Scholarships make a difference for local students as they prepare to take the next step in their educational journey. Through the generosity of donors, we are able to provide a diverse and meaningful assortment of scholarships to help finance an education,” shared Susie Nelson, executive director of CFOV.
Students seeking scholarships are encouraged to visit the CFOV website to explore opportunities. Questions may be directed to CFOV at 304-242-3144 or email@example.com.
