Two arrested for drug trafficking
WOODSFIELD — Two people remain in custody on drug charges following arrests that began with a traffic stop in Monroe County.
On Jan. 17, the Monroe County sheriff’s deputies and Woodsfield police officers made a traffic stop on Ohio 800 in Woodsfield. During the traffic stop, Phillip Tanner was arrested on charges of drug trafficking along with other drug-related charges. According to reports, officers recovered about 1/4 ounce of methamphetamine during the stop. Tanner was transported to the Monroe County Jail, where he is currently being housed.
After the traffic stop, the Monroe County Special Response Team unit, along with Monroe County detectives and road patrol officers, executed a search warrant at 40174 Plainview Road. During the execution of the warrant, Vickie Bledsoe was arrested on charges of drug trafficking and other drug-related charges.
After the residence was secured, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office contacted Children Services due to their being four young children inside the home. Once Children Services representatives arrived, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office released the children to them. Bledsoe was then transported to the Monroe County Jail, where she is currently being housed.
