The driver of the Savanna, Ricky W. Booth, 48, of Marietta, Ohio, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

According to a press release from the patrol, the crash occurred in the northbound lane of Ohio 7 near milepost 6. Investigation at the scene showed that a 2000 Ford Excursion moved to the left lane in an attempt to pass a 2006 GMC Savanna. The Excursion then struck the left rear corner of the Savanna, lost control, and rolled multiple times before coming to rest off the east edge of Ohio 7.

None of the occupants in the Excursion were wearing seatbelts, and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to a release from the patrol.
