Best of the OV voting beginning Sunday
MARTINS FERRY – Election season is upon us, and The Times Leader is looking for voters to cast their ballots for the Best of the Ohio Valley 2012.
This year’s Best of the Ohio Valley – Readers’ Choice Nominations tab will publish with Sunday’s edition of The Times Leader. Inside will be the official ballots on which readers can vote for their favorite business in more than 190 different categories.
The Best of the Ohio Valley is the area’s “Original Readers’ Choice” publication, one in which readers of The Times Leader not only vote on their favorite business, but also vote to choose which nominees appear on the ballots in each category.
“The Best of the Ohio Valley is a very popular special supplement to the newspaper,” said Kim Collette, inside sales manager at The Times Leader. “It gives our readers an opportunity to nominate and vote for the businesses they feel are the best in the valley. It also gives our local businesses an idea of how the public feels about them.”
Those businesses lucky enough to be voted “Best” in their category receive “bragging rights” for the year, and it is something on which they can truly hang their hat, Collette noted.
Readers will have until 4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 22 to return their entries. Entries may be returned by mail or dropped off at The Times Leader’s office on South Fourth Street in Martins Ferry.
For the first time, readers will also be able to vote online this year. Readers can go to timesleaderonline.com and find the Readers’ Choice button on the newspaper’s home page. Once readers have clicked through, they will be able to vote up to three times.
Winners will be announced in the 2012 Best of the Ohio Valley Winners tab, which will be published with the newspaper on Sunday, Nov. 25.
Three lucky readers who submitted nominations for the 2012 Best of the Ohio Valley are being awarded gift certificates in the amounts of $50, $25 and $15. Those readers’ names will be published in Sunday’s Nominations tab.
