Schlanz readying for job fair
ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Businesses and industries that are looking for qualified employees are invited to participate in the 7th annual Ohio Job Fair will be held Wednesday, April 3 from noon until 4 p.m. at the Ohio Valley Mall.
Interested parties can contact the Belmont County Connections office at (740) 633-5627 for registration information.
Michael Schlanz, manager at Connections, said registration forms were recently mailed. They must be completed and returned as soon as possible to his office at 302 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.

“Our previous job fairs were great successes due to the much appreciated participation by our business customers,” Schlanz said. “Let’s do it again in 2013 to help our Ohio Valley residents obtain jobs and to help employers find good employees.”
Those receiving the registration forms are asked to submit them by fax, email or mail.
They should contact Connections to confirm the receipt of the registration. They are asked to check the web site for the listing of the organization’s name and other information.,
Businesses are also asked to bring employment applications, literature and table displays.
Tables, chairs and table covers will be provided. However, registrants may also bring their own table cover.
They should also bring an extension cord if needed.
And if at all possible, to stay for the duration of the job fair. If anyone has any questions, they are asked to call Connections.
The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The job fair is open to those who are looking for a job and who wish to meet with several employers at one location. Participating businesses will be listed at www.belmontcountyconnections.com., and you are asked to frequently check the website for updates.
Potential employees are urged to make a good first impression and to dress neat and have a clean appearance. They are advised to dress appropriately and wear business casual clothes. Do not wear jeans, t-shirts and hats.
It is suggested that they bring several copes of their resume and pens and pencils. Know your employment history, dates, and references, telephone numbers, etc, to complete the applications.
