Bachelors provide boost to Belmont Relay for Life

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Paramount Support Services is hosting a bachelor auction on Saturday, May 4, to raise money for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life for Belmont County.

This is the second year that Paramount Support Services has raised money for the Relay for Life campaign.

“We thought (the bachelor auction) would be something different and we thought it could be a lot of fun. We just wanted to try something a little different and see how it went,” said event coordinator Amber Bresigner.

This year, the auction will feature 35 available men. The minimum bids start out at $10 and the maximum bids go up to $50. The age of the bachelors ranges from 19-64.

The auction will be held at Undo’s in St. Clairsville with tickets set at $25 a person. The ticket includes your meal and entry into door prize raffles featuring items donated from local businesses. They will also have several other raffles that night as well.

There will also be a DJ and an open cash bar.

The event goes from 5 p.m. until midnight and doors open at 4 p.m. The dinner, will be served between 5 and 5:15, and includes chicken, rigatoni, green beans and various desserts. Salad and bread will be served as well.

“I want to thank all of the businesses that donated items for the gift baskets,” said Bresigner. “I hope as many people come, as many as we can get in the door, we would love to have a big crowd.”

For tickets to this event, you can call Amber Bresigner at (740) 298-1191 or call Paramount’s office at (740) 526-0540.

This is the second fundraiser Paramount has done this year.

During Easter weekend, it held a steak fry and on June 9, Paramount will hold an all-day Polka for a Purpose event at the Fairpoint Polish Club.
