Shadyside talks park progress
SHADYSIDE – Shadyside resident Eileen Mack approached council to give an update on the progress made at Hillview Park.
“Where we are with the park? I was in contact with the Operators Union up north in Akron; they will do it,” Mack said. “They will come in, they will bring all of their own machines, all their own gas and all of their own operators, but we will have to wait until next year.”
The reason for the delay is the lack of operators at the moment.
Mack also wants to put in two culverts where the road going to Hillview is washing out. This would be to prevent future damage.
“It’s moving along, but it is going to take some time,” Mack said.
The pay scale for the assistant utility clerk was discussed in executive session with legislation approving the new pay scale taken after the session. The pay rate was set to begin Sept. 30 with an increase every year thereafter.
