Victim of a car crash dies
ONE OF?four person injured in a crash on Blaine Hill on Thursday has died.
Michael M. Vaughn, 39, of 408 N, Elmer Ave., Sayre, Pa., died around 10 p.m. on Thursday at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, according to information from the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Three other people who were also injured in the crash are in local hospitals.
Joshua J. Morris, 26, of 1006 3rd Ave., New Kensington, Pa., and Mary M Doll, 36, of 209 Railroad St., Barnesville, are patients at Ohio Valley Medical Center. Amy J. Householder, 34, of 381 Pike St, Quaker City, Ohio, is at Wheeling Hospital.
Vaughn was originally taken to Wheeling Hospital and was later Lifeflighted to UPMC.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:43 a.m. A 2011 Dodge Ram truck was going down the hill, went off the right side of the road and rolled over. Two of the occupants were ejected.
A state trooper said it has not yet been determined who was driving the truck. He said alcohol is suspected and seat belts were not used.
The four people injured were taken to hospitals by the Cumberland Trail Emergency Squad.
