Two nabbed in aggravated assault
MARTINS FERRY – Martins Ferry Police arrested Terrick Grimm, 20, of Weirton, W.Va, Cody Agler, 19, of Bellaire and Randy Wheeler Jr., 27, of Bridgeport on aggravated assault with gun specification.
According to Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland, early Friday morning, dispatch received a call from someone reporting road rage. The caller reported it was a silver Chevrolet Cavalier.
Later, a Cavalier matching that description was stopped by the Martins Ferry Police Department.
The officer returned to his patrol car to check the driver’s license, when a second man approached the officer stating that the men in the silver car had robbed him at gun point and that there was a loaded firearm in the vehicle
Upon calling for assistance, all three men were taken into custody. Inside the car, officers recovered a black handgun, along with a cellphone, $60 in cash and bag that belonged to the victim.
The victim reported that he was pulled over on County Road 4 talking on his cell phone when another car pulled in and asked if he needed help. The victim said no and the car moved on. A few minutes later, a car pulled in behind the victims car, unbeknownst to the victim.
A black male, later identified as Grimm, came to the driver’s side door with a gun in hand.
All three men are being held on aggravated robbery with gun specification charges.
