Texas fugitive arrested by Bellaire Police
BELLAIRE — What started as a parking complaint Friday night around 9:36 p.m., ended with the arrest of two subjects on warrants, drug offenses and Children’s Services being called. When officers attempted to locate the owner of a car at 526 46th Street the door of the residence opened with a strong odor of marijuana and with three females and a two-year-old present. Officers heard subjects running through the upstairs of the residence and a subject ran into the bathroom and tried to flee out a window. Officers located Javon Lenell Scott, age 28 and found marijuana outside the window, also 35.4 grams of crack cocaine were located.
Scott was found to be a fugitive from El Paso, Tx. also on bond from West Virginia, he was charged with Drug Trafficking of Crack Cocaine, Possesion of Marijuana, Tampering with Evidence.
His bond was set at $35,000.00 Also arrested was Dasean Johnson who had an outstanding warrant out of Belmont County and was charged with Obstructing Official Business as he tried to use his brother’s name. The two- year- old was released to the custody of the mother per Children’s Services.
Chief Mike Kovalyk had high praise for his officers, Lt. John Watson, Ptl. Rusty Cunningham, Ptl. Mike Wheeler, and Ptl. Tug Hildebrand not only for the arrests but acting in the best interest of the two -year-old who was present during the drug activity.
