Commissioners employ three
ST. CLAIRSVILLE Belmont County commissioners held a brief meeting Monday to conduct regular business.
Commissioners approved the hiring of Bonnie Zuzak as assistant clerk for the Belmont County commissioners’ office beginning Dec. 30 at the rate of $9 per hour.
Commissioners also hired Jennifer Frankovich as assistant clerk for the commissioners’ office beginning Jan. 6 at the rate of $9 per hour.
Julie Kloss was also hired to the position of switchboard operator/mail clerk/receptionist for the commissioners’ office beginning Jan. 13 at the rate of $9 per hour.
All three are subject to a 120-day probationary period.
Commissioner Ginny Favede was authorized to sign the Juvenile Accountability Block Grank subgrant award on behalf of the Sargus Juvenile Center for the Jan 1-Dec. 30, 2014 period. The federal award amount is $10,000, with a cash match of $1,111 for a project total of $11,111.
Favede was also authorized to sign one-year lease agreements with DJFS effective Jan. 1. The lease for 310 Fox Shannon Place was $18,869.18. The Martins Ferry satellite office was $14,697.
Commissioners approved and signed the amendment to the Senior Center Rental/Lease Agreement with Ohio River Properties LLC, to state that the total obligation will not exceed $50,000, the statutory limit. This is necessary due to the increase in the statutory limit from the previous amount of $25,000 to $50,000 per the Ohio Revised Code.
Commissioners also approved the release of two bonds for Gulfport Energy. These are $1,564,000 for 3.91 miles of Boston Road dated Aug. 22, 2012, and a bond of $240,000 for 0.6 miles of Wright Road dated Jan. 1, 2013.
Commissioners motioned to enter into three roadway use maintenance agreements for drilling projects and infrastructure with Gulfport Energy Corporation. These include the use of 3.91 miles of County Road 128, Boston Road for the purpose of ingress and egress for drilling activity at the Amanda Well Site, the BEL-SOM-5-0.36 Bridge for ingress and egress at the Brothers Site and drilling activity at the Brahmer Site.
The commissioners’ next regular meeting will be held Monday, Dec. 30.
