Sentences handed down on Friday
ST. CLAIRSVILLE Several sentences were handed down during Friday’s session of Belmont County Common Pleas Court. Visiting Judge Linton Lewis presided.
Kelvin Lamar Rivens, 27, 3100 Placid Road, Davidson, was sentenced on one count of having weapons while under disability, a felony of the third degree occurring Sept. 11, 2013. He was sentenced to 36 months with credit for 92 days served. Judicial release is a possibility.
Thomas Douglas Brabham, 29, incarcerated, saw the revocation of his parole after testing positive for drugs. He was given a sentence of 24 months.
He was originally sentenced for two counts of trafficking in drugs, a felony of the fifth degree occurring April 9, 2013, and was given five years of community controls.
Derek Haven Cross, 20, 63105 Boyd Ridge Road, Bellaire, saw the revocation of his parole after admitting to possession of contraband within EOCC. He was given a sentence of 34 months, with credit for 382 days served.
He was originally sentenced for burglary, a felony of the third degree occurring June 20, 2012, and theft, a felony of the fifth degree. He had received five years of community control sanctions, including jail and EOCC. Defendant reserved the right to ask for judicial release at a later time.
