Teamwork yields more drug arrests
THE BELMONT County Drug Task Force, in cooperation with the Bellaire Police Department and Belmont County Children Services, arrested three people around noon on Tuesday.
All three are facing drug charges.
Shayla McCormick, 24, of 2260 Union St., Bellaire, was charged with permitting drug abuse and child endangerment. Both of these are felony charges.
Timothy Abate, 19, of 67885 Nixon Ave., Bridgeport, was charged with one count of trafficking of heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments.
Both McCormick and Abate were transported to the Belmont County Jail. Also arrested was a 17-year-old male. He will face charges for felony possession of drugs. He was transported to Sargus Juvenile Center.
“These arrests would not have been possible without all three agencies working together as one,” said Belmont County Drug Task Force Commander John McFarland.
Abate’s bond was set at $3,250, while McCormick’s was set at $5,000.
