THE BELMONT County Drug Task Force made five drug trafficking arrests as a result of several investigations.
Robert Applegarth, 20, of 208 Sunset Dr., St. Clairsville was arrested and charged with two counts of drug trafficking. His co-defendant, Steven Keating, 22, 107 Windermere Dr., St. Clairsville, was charged with one count of drug trafficking and one charge of complicity to traffic drugs.
Christopher Carter, 26, of Yorkville, was charged with two counts of drug trafficking.
Christopher Hicks Jr., 27, of 4285 Harrison St., Bellaire, was charged with two counts of trafficking.
Joshua Taylor, 25, of Bellaire, had a warrant out for his arrest for trafficking, and he was charged with one count of drug trafficking as well. Taylor allegedly ran from officers but was arrested at the Chase Bank in Bellaire.
According to Drug Task Force Commander John McFarland, these arrests were the result of an all-day round up throughout Belmont County and they are still searching for two more people.
“As always, the agents of the Drug Task Force did a great job conducting these investigations, making the arrests and getting these guys off of the street,” McFarland said. “I want to thank St. Clairsville Police Chief Jeff Henry, Bellaire Police Chief Mike Kovalyk and the Yorkville Police Department for their help in making these arrests a success.”
