Truck accident closes I-70
A TRACTOR-TRAILER jackknifed and struck a guardrail on I-70 in Union Township on Tuesday at 11:50 p.m., causing the westbound lane of the interstate to be closed for nearly an hour. A detour was set up for people driving through the area.
According to a report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Jenny E. Ramsey, 37, of Grove City, Ohio, was driving a 2014 Freightliner Conventional westbound on I-70, when the vehicle jackknifed, slid off the right side of the road, and struck the guardrail.
Ramsey was cited for operating a vehicle without reasonable control.
According to the report, the roadway was snow- and ice-covered, and the area was experiencing a severe snowstorm. The driver said she was bruised but did not want medical treatment.
The vehicle was secured by Stonebraker’s Towing.
