United Way Campaign at 91 percent of goal
The 2013-2014 Campaign for the United Way of the Upper Ohio Valley has reached the 91 percent mark, with a total of $708,436 toward the goal of $777,777.
Jim Rock of Axiall, Campaign Chair, reported the latest figures to the United Way Board of Directors during its meeting this week.
Rock also reported that the United Way Night at the Races, held March 14 at Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack netted $15,600 toward the campaign.
“I want to thank everyone who worked to make Night at the Races such as successful event,” Rock said. “I especially thank the event sponsors, Wheeling Island Hotel Casino Racetrack, Pepsi and WTRF-TV 7, along with the 15 race sponsors, for their support.”
The race sponsors were: Costanzo & Associates; Main Street Bank; Wheeling News Register/The Intelligencer; Lamar Advertising; Steele Insurance Associates; Riesbeck Food Markets, Inc.; The Health Plan; United Bank; The Cornerstone Group; WesBanco; Beyond Marketing; The Times Leader; H.E.
