Ferry stabbing suspect arrested

MARTINS FERRY – Stabbing suspect Darion Frazier was arrested Thursday afternoon by Ohio County sheriff’s deputies.

He was apprehended at the Ohio County Library. Frazier was taken to the Northern Regional Jail and will have an extradition hearing.

Frazier is believed to be involved in a stabbing of a Jaycee Manor resident late Wednesday night. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she was treated for 17 stab wounds

When police arrived to the scene, a black man who was described to be Frazier, was seen fleeing the scene. Officers from Martins Ferry, Bridgeport, Bellaire and Wheeling and the Belmont County Sheriff’s Department searched for the suspect in different areas.

They received information that Frazier, who lives at 601 Whitely St., Bridgeport, had connections in Wheeling and Dayton, Ohio.

According to Martins Ferry Police Chief John McFarland, there was a warrant put out for Frazier’s arrest and encouraged him to turn himself in.

The identity of the victim has not been released nor has her condition.

“I want to thank everyone who helped in the search of Fraizer and I am glad that he was caught,” said McFarland.

MARTINS FERRY — Darion Fraizer, the man suspected of stabbing a Jaycee Manor resident, was arrested by Ohio County Sheriff’s Office. He was found in the Ohio County Public Library. He has been transported to the Northern Regional Jail and a expedition hearing will be held today or tomorrow.
