Driving courses offered
THE Martins Ferry Area Chamber of Commerce will offer Defensive Driving Courses on July 12 for adults and teens. The courses will be held from 7:15 a.m. to 4:45 p.m at East Ohio Regional Hospital in the Ruth Brant Maguire Room. Classes will be taught by Vincent West. Students must bring identification.
The Teen Course is for teens who are about to or have just received their license and the cost is $50. The course for adults is for those wanting to have points taken from their license with the cost being $140. Cost for each course includes all materials and instruction.
The last day to register is Wednesday, July 9, which means all registration fees must be received at the chamber by that date to be enrolled in either of the courses. Only registered students will be admitted.
Registrants will be allowed one transfer provided they notify the chamber no less than 24 hours prior to the start of the class. Otherwise, the registration fee will be forfeited if he student fails to report to class by the scheduled date.
The chamber also offers a Juvenile Driver Improvement Program which is mandatory for juveniles who have had their license revoked due to receiving two violations prior to their 18th birthday The cost is $135.
