Liberatore earns prestigious honor with drug firm

AKRON — Ty Liberatore distinguished himself as a three-sport star at St. John Central in the mid 1990s. He is now doing the same in the business world.

The Bellaire native is a Divisional Sales Manager for Forest Pharmaceuticals. Akron is his home base.

Liberatore recently landed a prestigious company award. He is the recipient of Forest’s “Outstanding Leadership Award.” It encompassed the first half of Fiscal Year 2014 (April to September).

Liberatore was chosen from Forest’s 100 Divisional Sales Managers nationwide. The award is based on sales, results, leadership, character, representative development and mentoring.

He was bestowed the honor May 21 at Forest’s managers meeting at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, FL.

Liberatore has been with the company since 2005.

He cut his teeth with the firm as a territory representative in Marietta. He was subsequently promoted to specialty sales representative in 2007 in Roanoke, Va. He gained another promotion in 2009 in Cleveland as a regional sales trainer and then promoted to Divisional Sales Manager in 2011.

Liberatore currently manages 10 sales representatives throughout the state of Ohio.

Forest Pharmaceuticals (FRX) employs 3,500 sales representatives nationwide and recently merged with Actavis Pharmaceuticals (ACT) July 1st, 2014.

Liberatore is a 1994 St. John’s graduate, where he was a four-year letterman in three sports: football, basketball and track.

He was the leading rusher in the Ohio Valley as a senior, galloping for more than 1,600 yards which earned his a spot in the OVAC All-Star game to go with his all-Ohio honors.

Liberatore was a four-year regular at point guard for Dan Anaglich on the hardwood. In track, Liberatore was one of the valley’s premier sprinters, winning four gold medals in the OVAC championship meet as a senior (100, 200, 400 and 4×2 relay.)

He went on to earn his collegiate degree at Ohio University.

Liberatore lives in the Akron suburb of Green with his wife Nicole and their two children: Reed (4) and Stella (2).
