Shadyside council hears from energy consultant
SHADYSIDE – Village council met Monday night and discussed several issues.
Marc Hollinger, an energy consultant from Aspen Energy Corp., spoke before council about electrical aggregation. He stated that there would two public meetings held to inform citizens about the electrical aggregation. Hollinger went on to say that there would be no termination fees for anyone that did not want to receive this service. Citizens can opt out by phone, mail or on the internet.
Shadyside High?Cross Country Coach Stu Rynkievich approached council about the 5K race that will take part during the first night of the Fireman’s Festival, which will start and finish at Shadyside High School. The race will start at 7 p.m. and pre-registration will began at 5:30 p.m.
Rynkievich also asked for permission to hold the Shadyside Invitational this coming September.
Council approved both requests.
OR&W Fire Chief Dave Lenz asked to have several streets closed for preparation and duration of the Fireman’s Festival. The streets in question are 39th Central to 39th Lincoln and 39th Street South to 40th Street South. The streets will be shut down from July 28 to Aug. 3.
Mayor Bob Newhart stressed to citizens that they must park with the flow of traffic. Some have been parking the opposite and it is causing problems.
